Fluid Warrior

Thank you.
I am so pleased and happy to be doing Yoga. I really feel that I've gotten to that goal that I almost didn't think existed. A yoga that I can enjoy. It's chainging my thoughts on how I enter into the practice. Now.. with anticipation. I am so glad that each day, as I open Yoga Warrior365, that it brings me in. Into another place of peace. Of patience. It quiets my mind that has already started going faster then I can type. Rudy Mattia is a wonderful instructor. Sure, I'll say that a lot but I mean it. He teaches so you *get it.*. Today's practice was Fluid Warrior Yes, it was a flow of poses, I am yet to learn. yes, it does pick up speed, but you can flow, if you flow.;) I'm still working on when to get my feet into position for crescent pose and flow that backbend thing and then he takes off. You go flying into something called. Surynamaskar. Don't ask me what it is but I take it that, it's a couple of poses in a flow that they gave the name Suryanmaskar. I call it, 'Siri-no-mascara'. I found out today, attempting to do this, there's a place where I twink my back a bit and that can last all day. It's something he does before we get to downward dog because when I get in *the dog* my lower back hurts. Must find out where i"m at so I won't go there and keep doing that. Any way, Get Yogawarrior365 if you've had a hard time finding a practice that you can stick to. If you have had injuries and want to do yoga but you're afraid you'll do more damage. Get YogaWarrior365 because you won't have to keep looking for another yoga instructor for your home practice. ૐ Namaste.. Amen.

Yoga and all

Well, I don't want to jinx it, but so far, YogaWarrior365 is a go. I didn't yell at Rudy one time. I didn't curse, one time. I didn't say, *you want me to do what?* one time. I did it. I felt very very different doing this. I can't explain how I was there. I was with Yoga. Some were held a bit long but that's conditioning. Rudy has a great sense of humor that makes it flow. I asked to be able flow in Yoga and today I did. Versatile Warrior is a bit of all he's going to do. I think. But, we shall see as we get through the Discs. I'm glad that I think when I get to the mat, this time I think, this is my meditation. Yoga is a moving meditation. Taken it that way, I don't feel like I'm missing my meditation. Thank you UDAYA and Rudy for sharing your love of Yoga. Here is Versatile Warrior

If you have a larger amount of water

Do you brew large quantities of tea differently that a cup or two at a time? Tea is a versatile beverage and can be brewed in any quantity as long as the ratio of tea is consistent. For most teas, one heaping teaspoon of tea to 6 oz of water is the ratio to follow. Some folklore recommends "a teaspoon per cup and an extra for the pot". Also, always remember to brew the teas for the recommended time. per

Tea and What not notes

Each type of tea has its own character and responds best to different water temperatures and length of time brewed. If brewed differently than recommended, the flavor may be underdeveloped or too strong. A strong tannic quality can emerge if over-steeped, which ruins a good cup of tea. To obtain a stronger brew, add more tea, but use the same water temperature and brewing time as you otherwise would. Love this site:) Is there caffeine in tea? How does it compare with coffee? Caffeine is an element of tea, and other plants, which acts as a central nervous system stimulant and promotes digestion. All types of tea contain caffeine, however the amount of caffeine varies according to the way in which the tea leaves are processed. Green tea contains the least caffeine, Black tea the most, and Oolong falls in the middle range. A cup of Green tea (6 oz) contains 8 mg of caffeine. A cup of Oolong tea contains 12.50 mg of caffeine. A cup of Black tea ranges from 25 - 110, depending on the variety. Coffee generally contains 60 - 120 mg of caffeine. Caffeine in tea metabolizes differently in our bodies than caffeine in coffee. Caffeine from coffee is quickly absorbed, thus producing an immediate cardiovascular response, whereas caffeine from tea is more slowly metabolized, probably due to other compounds in the beverage which are thought to slow down the absorption rate. Caffeine is water soluble and released from tea leaves in the very first part of the brewing process. To remove most of the caffeine from tea, brew the tea as normal, then pour off the liquid, add new hot water to the wet leaves, and brew for the usual amount of time. The flavor of any second steeping is less than that of a first steeping.

Stainless Kettles - Cuisinart Stainless Steel Electric Kettle Demonstration

Kombucha A-go again

Yes friends and readers. Last night we set up a new family of Kombucha. They are not tucked way in the dark to become even more sweater. We made 2 Cherry, 1 Gogiberry and Mango, 1 Mango and 1 Strawberry/blueberry. This will be wonderful to taste. This set has been burped on the first day, Saturday and I also added in 1/4 teaspoon of sugar so it will have added fizz. Love the fizz of those tiny Bubbles. ;) The new batch that was also made is made up of 2 Organic Black Tea, 2 Organic Green Tea and 1 Pu-erh tea.. I think it's going to be just fine. Here is Pu-erh tea : I was going to show a video but I can't get the video to be the correct size so we'll talk about Pu-er, another time:) Stay tuned..

It all comes from the same place

Black, Green, White all come from the same plant.

It's Tea Time

Time to learn about tea. The blends, the brews, the origin, the way it can help our body to heal. Tea is a natural herb that is calming to the soul. I'm going to enroll in an on-line tea course so I can enjoy the different flavors of tea and make more refreshing healing Kombucha Tea. Tea Fact: Following a surgical procedure in my dental office, a patient goes home with three items. The first is a list of postoperative care instructions. The second is cotton gauze. The third is a black tea bag, in case of emergency. Not a tea drinking emergency, but rather an uncontrollable bleeding emergency. The tannins in black tea are beneficial in controlling bleeding. Occasionally sutures can't even stop the heaviest bleeder, so we reach for the trusty tea bags. Just a little warm water and a little pressure, and before too long a clot is formed and the bleeding will subside. Works well on skin injuries too. Of course, if they don't experience excess bleeding, then they can enjoy a cup of tea. Article submitted and reprinted by permission of: Kristina Wiley, DDS www.lindelane.com

Kombucha

Well today, I put my KT into bottles for it's second ferment. The reason you do this is to allow for fizz to get produce and it allows you to flavor each bath the way you like it. I wanted to make different flavors and thus I have my bottles labeled as such.
From Left to Right we have: 1. Mango/Peach 2. Peach/Strawberry 3. Lemon/Ginger 4. Mixed berries. i.e. Raspberry/blackberry 5. Raspberry/Strawberry Below is my mother before we did the pour off.

To learn more about Kombucha, please see Kombucha Kamp with Hannah Crum. Here is my Kombucha so far for 3 days, Nothing big to see but I'm taking pictures as it goes. I set it up on Saturday, July 13, 2013

UYoga - 23

Boy time can fly when you have a few *off* days. Things just got to much for me and I was not able to get my yoga practice in. Well today, I got in with Mediation to start. I feel more connected, on point when I place my intent first. I get to invite the holy spirit in and the other helpers so I don't get discouraged. I wrote on my dry erase board *Do what you can, With what you have where you are at*. That's important to say all the time. I'm who I am, not Jeanna, not Tammy, not Barbara but Cheryl Grant Samms. I'm living in this body and this is the one I have to work with. So, be patient and love her just as she is. She's the best body I have. Sean Corn was kind today. I love her instruction but some time it feels hard to hold the pose while she continues to say how to get into it and hold. I swear I've healed it 10 or so seconds more then when she decides to say, okay come out of that one. I think Yoga as all day because it's not the poses, it's the inviting of spirit. To be a good person in everything I do with who ever I talk to who ever I reply to. I thank God for waking me this morning and allowing me to sleep peacefully and sound. I had things on my mind the other day and I have to face a bit of a Giant in the next day and 3 hours. I pray that what I say will be received in love.

UYoga - 22

And we made it on the mat again.  I enjoyed today for I actually put in 2 dads. (smile) I think I want to use (s) vs LOL.  any way (s) LOL.  okay… okay.  So I did some of Baron Baptiste today. Oh boy, lot of abdominal work. He's good but working the core is such a pain and I do mean figuratively.  So, thank goodness it was short but it made me feel I had not done enough because it was over so fast. So, I put in his other DVD I have and that was enough.  Enough being present and applying myself.  Yoga, well, they say do what you can and leave the rest. I did. But each time I do I find myself in more prayer about why my body is not doing the postures as they are meant to be done.  The Camel. and The Bridge   both are trying. I'll try not to use words that are defeating.  But, I can't get my hands under my back with the back that high off the ground and the Camel, well I just can't let go of both hands to touch my feet as it hurts my lower back. so, I'll have to look up modifications and modify until it all … lets…… go….

UYoga - 21

Yea. Moving right along here.  Nice night, nice day.  Had a good day withRay in his bible study.  Nice to share the light with others.

I was still able to come home and do yoga.  I did Sean Corn again, but a different one.  She doesn't talk as much.  This is a talk over one and much better.  It's still difficult but I can do this.  Just go slower. Breathe and flow.  The issue I have to do is get a bit after, more sure in my Up dog and then into down dog.  I get hesitant there but I know, I will move through this.  Today, I also took a bit of a break but then I got up and continued when she did the floor postures.  Lots of twisting and she explained what you are doing while doing the posture and you know, that feels great.  Just knowing what you are working on because you can send the breath into that muscle feel great, better.  I enjoy Sea.  I almost did Baron but I'm glad I did what I did.

Do your meditation, set the intent and flow.

Uyoga - 20

So Sweet. Sean Corn is a blessing. Today I did most of her Vinyasa Flow.  She is so sweet an into yoga.  She also was born to teach. She makes sure you are lined up, before you start your flow. I like her instruction and her demeanor.  You do pray to make it flow.  I may not get my foot all the way up to the front of the mat from downward dog but that's okay. I'm working on it.  My intent is there to do yoga to be one with the spirit. to give light to others to come to Yoga.  I thank God for the guidance in this journey and for the teachers he has put before me to learn from . Thank you all ૐ  shanti.

Curvy Yoga Videos

Here is a list of videos on how to get into poses for those with curves. :) Enjoy, take what you need and leave the rest.

UYoga - 18

Yes, today I did Restorative Yoga. I loved it. It just allows your body to flow over the coaster and relax. Like giving yourself permission to let go. I enjoyed the leg sequence, the back the most and then the flow over the bolster. Even upon awakening you can still enjoy Restorative yoga. The sequence I did was from a beach scene at Doyogawithme. Last night I also talked with Donna Gershman at You Will Heal. What an awakening talk I had. I didn't want to disconnect from Sype. She is definitely in her truth. Thank you Donna so so many times.

UYoga - 17

And we are moving right along now. Seems once you find something you can do it does go fast. AT one point I didn't know if I was ever going to get past 2 weeks. But I'm moving. I'm on th emat and today I did yoga Foundations 2nd class. I thought I was suppose to do class 1 but since class 2 was geared up in the player, I said, just go with it.. I really like the breathing and I'm getting to like that little, what is it Song Bird pose. I just look down and hold tight so I can stay on my branch) Even though I eat nothing before yoga, my stomach still feels like a 2 10 pins in there. I dream when I breathe I hollow out my stomach and envision what it would feel like to have a flattened belly. Ah to dream. Hope it's not impossible. I've been after this goal for the life of me. Food was good. I ate left over wonderful baked chicken I made from a good rub from Whole foods. yes, it was worth every penny. I had some rice and green beans and called it a healthy meal. Later on, I had a nice juicy tasty piece of watermelon. Felt bad for throwing that rind out because if I were juicing the melon, I would have used that. But before that I made cranberry, apple, lime juice. It was good but even just a slice of lemon makes it taste like Lemonade so quickly. Today is the first day, I'm feeling a bit better in the shoulder area with the passing of the shingles. Wow, that is a trip I do not want anyone to have to suffer through. It hurts and it hurts some more. But, I'm healing as I rest and that makes me feel better.

UYoga - 16

Don't even know how to keep up with myself. But today I did yoga from Amazon called Yoga for Health and other stuff. It was interesting. She was pretty good. Good I'll say, slow enough for me to keep and good because she did things I had not done before but enjoying trying. I'd say I'd do it again just so I could practice those poses. I did the Plow pose with putting the stool in back of me so I would have some place to touch my feet without dangling them in the air. I'm not yet stretched enough in my spine to have my feet touch the floor. This does feel good though. Will feel even better when I get rid of some of that flesh between my ribs and my hips. Just not enough space there to hold it. I don't want it so it might as well give up and go away. I really don't care also what boat it best on but it best get on a boat and get out of here. My book by Baron Baptiest came today also. Journey into Power and something tells me I might bet getting more books. Might as well have a library in which to refer to because I'm going to referring everyone to yoga. Love the practice today and I'm glad it's done. At first from doing my errands I didn't think I would get it done but God made a way and it was appreciated.

Uyoga - 14 and 15

Wonderful day. I had a good time on the mat with Sean Corn and Baron Baptiste. Baron is a bit slower, could use some better music but he was good. I'll put him in for a weekly do. Sean was gorgeous, just her message makes it go by fast. Lots of good twist and now that I understand what the twist are for, detox, I'll be more then glad to do them. I won't miss Travis because he is the star with 3 positions in my weekly line up. The whole point for me now is health, good form, good practice and share what I learn with others. Yoga is for everyone. Any age, and body. We know the main stream media shows women as big as a plant leaf but really, that's the wrong image of yoga. If you saw the men in India who are doing yoga, you would not see very many pencil leaves doing yoga. I wish I could so very much go on a yoga retreat. Just to sit and listen to the scholars of yoga. But since I need more Benjamins I will have to just dream and look at my dream board about where I'll go to be with more Yogis and Yogini's. Today was a great day on the mat. All three of them.. See you tomorrow with pleasure as we go forth remembering what we did today so it will be welcome, tomorrow. Namaste

UYoga - 13

Really!!! I'm doing it.I'm doing it my way. It feels good. No complaining. Getting out of bed and putting on the yoga pants is one of the tricks. I can't drink my water so I have to do that after yoga or else it will be on the floor in front of me. I did Yoga Foundations 2 today. I loved it. It did feel as if I was able to twist a bit more when you do that think where you put one leg over the other and then have the opposite elbow reach to the outer knee. I have to find the names of these poses. Mirichi Pose I felt pretty good twisting more by holding stomach in, turn a little, breathe, the turn a little more an hold. That's as far as I'm to go. I also received two great things in the mail. Yoga and the Quest for the True Self and The Yoga Bootcamp Box by Baron Baptiste. Lots of learning and I'm going to enjoy doing that in the sunlight tomorrow.

UYoga - 12

YES, day 12 but really, do I need to count any more. When what I'm doing is what I will be doing for a very long time. Time to sell all the other DVDS because what is happening is 'm finding happiness in what I do. That might mean, I will have to sell my Bellicon. I enjoy yoga that much. I did Yoga Foundations today class 3. Oh what a beautiful session. What i also found is I ordered Baron Baptist Bootcamp Box All to continue my journey. I did give this blog the right name because I see you have to enjoy it. Don't have to do things that aren't comfortable, when you enjoy it. it brings out the best in you. It's not about getting stronger or doing poses longer or even standing on your head. Enjoy it. It will do for you what your body needs. Oh oh. Hot flash on the way up…

UYoga- 11

What a beautiful day in the neighborhood. It's 79 degrees and beautiful outdoors. It was even more beautiful in doors as I did my yoga for the day. I felt like I was giving my body what it needed. yes, it was ready to do yoga. I planned that before I went to sleep so that when I awoke, I would be ready. It worked. Yoga was on my mind, the yoga words were in my thoughts. I have to read more so I can tok the language. I did Yoga foundations #2 today. It felt better then #1 or I just liked it. We did progress with more twists and and I'm getting to like the pose where you are on alternating knee and outstretched arm. I had the name now it escapes me. I like using all three mats also because no matter where my foot is, I'm on one. Feels better then even putting down my Mandala round mat. Had a good breakfast and it's going to be a good reading day.

UYoga - 10

YES, I changed the name from Ultimate Yogi to Ultimate Yoga. Yoga is Ultimate to me. For me. I know it's going to do something on the inside and I'm ready. My discipline brings me to my mats and I enjoy it. That's what matters. I enjoy it. I don't have to ache in pain. I don't have to scream, I can't sit on the potty to give my body what it loves. We should love our bodies more an that means not beating them up. They are there to serve us on our journeys. Today I did Yoga Foundations and boy was that needed. I plan on building my own program from now until end of August or unless I feel strong enough to go back to UY. Travis' foundations is really where a newbie to yoga should begin. Even if you have done yoga before, check out how he recommends you do the postures. I feel good about this choice. I feel good about reading Yoga Mind, Body and Spirit. Great book about how we grow into what we are possibly searching for within ourselves. No wonder yoga is so eye opening. Maybe a lot of people were searching for answers and they came to the answer by being still. Yoga makes you be still and go inward. You can't get what yoga can give from Kettlebells, lifting weights, Pilates, Barre, dancing or Zumba. At least I didn't. I tried all that I listed and you know why? Because you are too busy doing in all of the other forms of exercise. When you quiet your mind and listen to your breath, your spirit does talk to you. It's been said to listen to the still small voices. Well, don't go bugging because it's when they talk to us. They have our full attention. From the book:
What ever the practice, as long as there is an intention to know thyself through it and the commitment to see the process through, almost any activity can become an opportunity for learning about yourself. Swadhyaya means staying with our process through thick and thin because it's usually when the going gets rough that we have the greatest opportunity to learn about ourselves.

Ali Macgraw and Eric Schiffman

Well, A very kind man on my UY group 108 suggested I try this DVD. It's difficult to find without a steep price tag so I purchased it from iTunes, something i didn't know you could do. Any way this is what I bought. Ali MacGraw and Erich Schiffman: yoga mind and Body. It is a very nice pace practice. Something I can keep up with. Has a nice flow and I felt good in my body. Not like it was doing things it didn't want to or that I had to force it to do. Sometimes when things are like this makes you wonder if you are still doing yoga. But this is how yoga should be. Nothing hurting. But enjoy the flow. I thank you, John Hodgins for the great suggestion. I think now that I know I can do something else, I can still be Ultimate, I just won't be super Ultimate. I like yoga and knowing I was to do it for 108 days, I will still do it but at a more moveable pace.

“Find a place inside of yourself where the ever changing ebb and flow of life does not dictate your fundamental sense of peace. Practice peace and peacefulness will come your way. Practice love, mindfulness, gratitude… and this is what your life will be made up of."

UYD-off

Well I did plan to get on the mat but these shingles were hurting me today. I don't know if sun is too much but I'm down today. That's okay. I know what I have ahead of me. It wasn't all the shingle pain, it's friends lost pain. But I will remember not all friends come to stay, and some have other alternatives to being a friend which aren't the same as yours.

UYD - 8 Improvised

Well, I started off doing the day 8 suggested Cardio, a few rotations in and I said, I don't like this. It was alright for the warm up but then the roller coaster got into full gear and left me back in Kiddy land. So, I said, I'm not giving up my Yoga. I'll find something else by Travis and that I did. I did Gentle Yoga. Loved it and I could do the whole thing. Now that's what I like. I did notice that I can do the lay on the mat with knees bent and turned to the left side, easier then on the right. When I do the right side, they don't go all the way down to the floor as does the left. Also, on that one where you swing your left arm under your right elbow and try to make your hands touch, I do better Right under left then Left under right. Lot of differences on sides but I couldn't remember them as I was doing them to get them to the blog. Will have to stop more and right things down so I can improve. I tried to invasion or have an intention that when we sit on the floor and have booth feet touching that both my knees are also laying on the floor. Mine stick up like they want to fly off, so we need more hip mobility is it? I don't know, but what ever it is that gets those knees down to the ground. Travis was very kind in this video but the video was blurred and not as sharp as UY dvd. Those are perfectly clear. I then gave my self a treat of fruit cup. I had made potatoes and Ranch dip for after. Ha, I made a wiser decision and went for the Mango and Dragon fruit. I bought this strange item at the Asian Grocery store, not knowing what it was. I thought it was pretty so I bought it. Well, it is like a kiwi in the inside. You don't eat the skin. And good thing about it is there is no large stone in the middle. Just luscious juicy fruit. Well, it's not sweet. Not by a long shot. It's cool to taste. I could eat it again but today, I ate it with my mango and had a Dragon Mango fruit bowl. Here it is. :)

What I'm doing today

I am getting my wheatgrass seeds ready to go to bed so I can grow a new pan of grass. I'am loving my Hurom. I can't say enough but it's a beautiful machine. Love all aspect of it. Here is what I made today: Love that photo option on the camera to add more then one photo to a picture. That way it does not take up a lot of room. This is Mango, 2 oranges, strawberries and some fresh mint from my garden. I'll show you that later. It's raining out today so no mint pictures yet. Yoga, oh what can I say, If you want a love in your life. Do yoga. it's fun, it's difficult, it brings satisfaction to you and you can pick it up any time. So, Here is my soap I also made. Ilove making soap. I made Honey Lavender. That's just going to be the name. Simple and sweet. Love the cute molds I made an I just might keep it that way. Every bar doesn't have to be a flat slab.

UYD - 7

MOUNTAIN POSE Pranayama Breathing and Meditation. Wow, Just close you're eyes and look how you made it. Yes, I made it. I did a full week. had a curve in my road but I got up and continued. Wow. I feel like I've been transformed and…. i've only….. just…..begun…..Ha. One week and each practice was wonderful. I may not have done all the postures correctly, but I was on the mat. Today, Oh today was like I was taken to Bulgaria with the crew. Mountain pose. I loved it. Loved the breathing. Loved how my body was like, we like this. I had a bit of a short lung when it came to the Pranyanama breathing as I could only exhale to the count of 6 and then I had no more wind to go. So, I took a skip and sucked in more wind:) and went on. The first time I did this Pranayama I was not able to keep up at all. All I heard was Travi's counting and wondering what on earth is he doing. Well… this time, Gombden in place, knees crossed, quite room, aroma of refreshing lemon essential oil so I could breathe and there I went. I did it. as he say..oooooohhhhoohoooohooo. Like you hit the right spot!!!!!! If anyone hasn't gotten here yet, you will. Just know, it's a wonderful place to be. VITALITY..

The Ultimate Yogi w/ Travis Eliot - Vitality Power Yoga Class from The Ultimate Yogi on Vimeo.

This is wonderful. But what did you or I expect. This whole program is wonderful. I will sing it dream it do it all th time with my juicing. And Man, let me tell you, there is nothing better, I"m all done shopping for juicers as I've come to the one. oh yes, there is one right for me and it's the Hurom Elite Juicer. Quite, clean, beautiful, wonderful juice. I have a new book also. I'm just so excited happy glad to have a wonderful juicer and now I need to really explore some other vegetables in my juicing such as broccoli and cauliflower, kohlrabi and collard greens and Brussels sprouts so I will always always have something to juice up. Yoga, Oh Vitality, so wonderful. Full of vital movements for heart opening. Some tai chi movements that allow you to get the full breath in your chest and then exhale it out with movement. I love it. It's not fast, it's a nice tempo. Great cueing. I can do this. I have to get strength in my upper chest so I can hold that plank and lower down to cobra. That is a move we will be doing a lot so I best find a way to get it done. I wish I had a yoga circle where yogis meet and talk all thing yoga and how it's changing and how to do a pose better. I guess I'll be doing my own research and then that way, I'll learn it more.

Amazing Yoga

UYD Rest

Yes, this is a day of rest. Since my occurrence of Shingles, I've been told to rest quite a bit. Well, it doesn't also allow you to really do much because it still hurts. But as I go through, I found a great Restorative Yoga video to do and it's a keeper for those days when your body says, hey, can we go a bit slow.  I did this ..
Oceanside restorative yoga.

Also, I did about a 15 minute meditation to this video.

very nice.

My Left shoulder is on Fiya!!!!

Well, now I know. I've heard, I've seen and now, I have the shingles. I seen them across peoples bodies and I heard them say it is painful. Well, let me tell you. Shingles is painful. This is an adult virus that decides when it is going to come out and play. I don't like the game as I can't win. I have an oozing rash on my upper body and neck and it hurts like the dickens. Like a small fire always lit under your skin. I can't wear any clothing as even cotton hurts when it comes in contact. You can't sleep very well because your side hurts to turn on it. Well, all in all, I'm not doing Yoga today, not even Yin Yoga. Too much for me right now. I've had a few days of stress previously and I wish I knew how this decided, during this stress episode to come out. I even asked the doctor if there was something I could drink, i.e. a juice and she said no. But, I'm not going to give up looking for one. :) Any way, not much to say today as I'm in pain and I already miss my Yoga. I was so happy with the way I was going and keeping up. And now, I have a flat tire. pooffff.. I'll be back.

Setting The Tone

From Daily OM A gentle, reflective, and thoughtful morning will prepare you to create a gentle, conscious, and thoughtful day. The choices you make upon waking can have a profound impact on your day. If, still drowsy, you hit the ground running, rushing to prepare yourself to face your worldly obligations, you will likely feel fatigued and overwhelmed for most of your day. A leisurely and relaxing morning, on the other hand, can energize and excite you, as well as give you the courage to meet the challenges waiting for you. By beginning your day in a focused and centered fashion, you make it your own. You set the tone of your expectations and choose the mood you will use to respond to your circumstances. A gentle, reflective, and thoughtful morning will prepare you to create a gentle, conscious, and thoughtful day. The simplest way to eliminate the rush from your morning routine is to rise earlier. Getting children into routines and getting themselves ready as much as possible will also give you more time. Though this may seem like a hardship at first, you will soon grow to love the extra minutes or hours that afford you an opportunity to really enjoy watching the sun come up or connect with your loved ones before you go in your separate directions. There are many more ways you can constructively use the time you gain. A mere half-hour of introspection in which you examine your goals, thank the universe for the richness in your life, and contemplate the blessings you will receive this day can lift your spirit and help you formulate lasting positive expectations. Likewise, you can solidify your day’s intention through spoken affirmations or the words you record in a journal. Or, if you want little more than to enjoy your day, devote a portion of your personal time to activities that bot! h ground and delight you, such as meditation, yoga, chanting, singing, reading, or listening to music. If you feel, however, that there is little room for change in your start-of-the-day routine, try to make each activity you engage in upon waking a ritual in its own right. The time you spend everyday savoring a soothing cup of tea or washing away tension in a hot shower can serve as a potent reminder of the need to care for yourself no matter what the hour. Your morning is yours and should reflect not only your practical needs but also the needs of your soul. When you center yourself at the start of your day, you will likely find it easier to remain centered during subsequent work, play, and downtime because the overall sense of serenity you create through your choices will stay with you throughout the day.

Detox. Oh yes, this I love. I will be improving on this because I like it a lot. I like the twisting, bending poses because I feel it wrings out my middle more then doing crunches. Travis is blessed. A blessing to the world of Yoga. If you have not liked Yoga before, I think you will enjoy this practice. If not, keep searching for your instructor. He's mine for keeps. I feel so at home, at ease, at peace even when I am unable to get into a twist as shown but I still twist something. I still breathe I still flow. I can't say enough about how I know I'm going to say, and enjoy becoming An Ultimate Yogi. This is also my second shot of Wheatgrass. I will say, it does not taste really bad with juice. It does not taste really bad alone. It just taste different. Never had this taste on my tongue so I"ll get used to it. I'm glad I'm now a wheatgrasser. The little machine, works like a charm. Here it is. Get a Healthy Juicer if you want to get the most out of the grass. My first juice was last night when I had 2 apples, and 1 oz wheatgrass. Drank that down better then water. My second juice was 1 Apples, 1 Pear and 1 oz wheatgrass and 5 ounces celery. I was trying to just do the wheatgrassa and the celery but no way was that sweet enough for me, therefore I had to add in my apple and pear to bring it to life. It's terrific. I love what I do for this body. Not for me, but the body. Drink the sunlight:)

UYD - 4

This program is wonderful. I'm 4 days in and I still love it. I love the music and the teacher and the class and the length. It is difficult. no doubt but it will be better and better as I go along. Today, my favorite, Yin Yoga. Never did this before so I enjoyed this thoroughly. I like the long poses that we hold for 3-5 minutes. Felt like I was getting my own massage. I will look forward to Yin Yoga. also, the Hardcore is deep in the guts. Love it though. The set, the tone, the mediation.

Strength I felt much better this morning. I was not sick in my stomach. I kept up…as best… I could. Anything new the first day is awkward. Very awkward. And you know what…?? he even had Awkward pose in there. yes, Awkward pose. I'll remember that. It was a feat of balance. Opposite hands and opposite legs extended. Wow. Balance. Each felt different on either side. Now I see why people say, Downward dog…. is my friend. You'll become to welcome when he says that. That's when you get a breather.. Very very nice;) God help me… I can't do this by myself. I can't do it within my own strength. I'm weak. I'm sore. But I'm going forth. I'm pretty happy with myself that I did do Hardcore. It was really nice. Nice positions. Except that knee to the tricep. Now that was difficult. I didn't do it. I was able to bring the knee up, but it was on the ground. I just did attempted each of the different crunches. I can see why he calls this, Hardcore You will have one and also, please, do not eat on these days.

Cardio: Oh my my my. I am so sick. I need Tums, Rolaids, Mylanta and anything else for indigestion. This was just like a roller coaster where you want to upchuk your food. I for sure could not do the number of rotations of the poses he set out. yes, the people were sweating like in Bikram but they were all doing it. why aren't there any modifier people. how are we suppose to know what a modified version looks like? I'm sick. I can't talk. any way, I had a video of the room before I stared but can't upload for some reason. Will learn more and post a video at another time. I am so hurting so sick. I need a miracle to get in this body and make it move. Yoga, ain't no joke. Alas, here is my pose for UYD-2
